I bought these for our new Honda Pilot. My wife needed them to help her get in and out of the car. They were easy to install just requiring 2 different size wrenches. The attachment points on the car we’re already there with the threaded hole ready to accept the mounting bolts. The car sits high enough that I was able to install without jacking the car. The black tread and the chrome trim look very good on the car. My wife loves them as she can now get in and out of the car with very little problem. These running boards fit just like OEM. The screws and holes aligned perfectly. Looks great on my 2020 Honda Pilot. It doesn’t protrude a lot like some aftermarket boards. The 3 brackets on each side make it feel really sturdy. My only gripe and only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the polished edge gets really hot in the sun. Just need to remember not to get too close when wearing shorts.Easy to install on a 2022 Honda Pilot. Great value for the money.I ordered and installed these on our 2020 Honda Pilot. My wife was very pleased with the look and sturdiness of the installed running boards, and so was I. However, I was not pleased with two things:One has to do with installation onto the vehicle frame. The other has to do with the product. So let’s get into it.Installation- Due to how my vehicle was parked in the garage, I chose to start the installation on the passenger side. There was no need to jack up the vehicle and all of the brackets were manufactured to fit precisely. I bolted the front bracket on first with no issue (13mm socket and 6” extension). I bolted the center bracket on second and I could tell that the vehicle frame bolt-hole threads had a little rust on them, but it didn’t concern me and the bolts reluctantly tightened up. I moved onto the rear bracket. As I was bolting it down, I could tell that the vehicle frame bolt-hole threads had more rust on them than the previous two pair. This still didn’t concern me as these are large bolts, but as I was tightening the bottom bolt, it broke off. I used a 1/16” drill bit to drill a small indentation in the center of the broken bolt. I switched to a 3/16” drill bit to drill a center thru hole in the broken bolt. I then used my Grabit Pro #3 paired with a socket to remove (counterclockwise) the broken bolt out of the vehicle frame bolt-hole. I used a 8mm 1.25 tap to clear the hole of rust. Another reviewer recommended this, but incorrectly recommended a 8mm 1.5 tap. Most definitely tap ALL HOLES with a 8mm 1.25 tap before installing the brackets. Fortunately I was able to re-use the broken bolt in the rear bracket horizontal location, as only approximately 1/4” of the original bolt broke off. I did paint the broken end so that the bolt would be less likely to rust in the future. Again. Save yourself the time and hassle of a broken bolt removal and tap ALL the bracket bolt holes in the vehicle frame with a 8mm 1.25 tap BEFORE installation.Product- After installation, I noticed that the top-rear portion of the driver-side step had about 10 gouges in it. This was extremely disappointing after the fiasco with the broken bolt. I do not believe that the damage occurred with the delivery service as I just happened to be outside when my package was delivered. Also, the box was in fine order before I opened it to remove the parts. I definitely think my box wasn’t pack well enough from the manufacturer, which is why I only gave 4 stars on my review. So in summary- check the running boards for damage and tap all the frame holes before installation.Easy to install! All the screws/bolts fits right in. You just need to have the right tools. Don't tightened all screws yet until you install the running boards.I just purchase the Honda Pilot 2018 Touring Elite. I loaded it with everything but opted to not do the running boards that list for $625 and probably over $800 with installation. I saw these running boards by accident on Amazon. After researching all the comments and questions and answers, I felt it was worth the investment and try for just a little over $200. Well I have to say that I am absolutely 110% satisfied. I did not run into any of the problems with needing to file holes or anything. The brackets all fit perfectly and the installation took a little time, about 2 hours or less but just a lot of things to do that weren't really hard. Everything came packed very securely and protected and all that was needed were a couple of wrenches. Instructions were very easy to follow and if you followed them you would not have any problems.I will make a couple of suggestions. First before trying to screw the brackets to the factory set threaded holes on the frame try the screws without the bracket to make sure they fit in properly. I had one threaded hole that was not exactly centered with the frame hole and didn't allow the screw to go in straight. I mean it was just very slightly off but enough to not allow the screw to go in straight. I tried everything including trying to hit it with a chisel but it was to tight. I just tightened that bolt last knowing that it was going in slightly off and not exactly with the threads aligned. It went in and tightened down very nicely and I figured I would never be removing it anyway. Second, install the running boards and all the bolts loosely to allow you to align as you want. There is a little adjustment front to rear and I was going to split the difference but then decided to install the running board back as far as I could which was flush with the rear wheel well. The step or running board is more needed to the rear of the SUV and not towards the front. Lastly there is adjustment closer or farther out from the body. I adjusted mine out as far as they would adjust which was just about as far as the farthest part that the side of the car is. Why would I adjust the running board closer to the car or farther in and not allow it to assist as much with stepping into the car. I have observed many different SUV's with running boards and there is no standard. Some closer and some sticking way out. These running board added so much function to the car especially for shorter persons but also for accessing the third row seating or tying something on the roof. You will absolutely love these running boards for they add some nice look to your Pilot but also a lot of function and for about 1/4 the price of the factory. If you have any mechanical ability it will be a snap to install.
